image:  www.pauladeen.comI have to admit this is the second draft.  I felt that my first attempt at this was based much more on my opinion rather then looking at some fact.

 

Like many people, I was a little shocked, not at the fact that Paula Deen had type 2 Diabetes, but that she was now a spokes person for a Diabetes drug (to which Deen has stated she will donate the profits to charity).  I guess the buzz is two fold.  One, a celebrity chef that has promoted “Good Home Southern Cooking” who now has diabetes and the other is collecting an income from a company that in essence benefits from her illness.

A Tribute to Steve Jobs

I pressed the power button this morning followed by a chime. As other co-workers turned on their computers it seemed like a 21 gun salute of chimes. In the past, a small smiling “Happy” Mac would appear to brighten my day but this morning, through advancements in operating systems, that happy Mac is long gone and replaced with a pale gray Apple logo. Somber and fitting.
